Today's trip took us 300 miles (480 Km) from Kitwanga to Prince George, British Columbia. The route took us through a series of valleys and low passes. Within the first hour of our journey, the countryside changed from heavily wooded to agricultural. There were numerous large lakes, some of which had resort communities around them. From the amount of trucks carrying timber and wood chips and the frequent sighting of lumber mills, it is obvious that the dominant industry is logging. We only made a few stops on the trip and had little opportunity to take pictures so there are none following this commentary.

Some of you may be wondering why we have not been keeping this site current every day. The answer is one word, "wilderness." We have never felt so out of touch with the world as we have since we left Tok, Alaska. There was no Internet available at the campgrounds except for some dial-up service. To try to upload these pages at dial-up speed would have taken a long time. We always thought that the next campground would have high speed Internet access only to learn that it didn't. To make matters worse, there was no cable TV and no cell service until we got to Prince George so we didn't know what was going on in the world around us. Our next stop is in Jasper National Park so we doubt that we will have high speed connections there. We will try to find an Internet Cafe to stay current.
