This morning started bright with a few wispy clouds in the sky. It gave us hope for a sunny and comfortable day. We are about 60 miles west of Los Angeles (actually slightly north of west... check the map), but the temperature is at least 20 degrees cooler. Pretty soon, the clouds started rolling in from the ocean. They were thin low clouds and the sun struggled to get through. We had a few minutes of blue skies in the afternoon and then the clouds stayed for good. We are getting a bit paranoid about the weather here. We were in Oxnard, a few miles south of here, a few years ago and our entire stay was raw and cloudy. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

Rick and his girlfriend, Vicky came up from Los Angeles to spend some time with us. It was a great, but brief , visit. We went to the harbor area and had lunch at a seafood restaurant recommended by campground personnel. They had to get back to Los Angeles so that Vicky can see an episode of the TV show Numbers, being filmed. Rick's friend, David Krumholtz, is one of the stars of the show and had invited Vicky to the set.

When our guests left, we just stayed in the campground and I read while Susie quilted. It was really too gloomy to do anything else. We are hoping for a better day tomorrow so we can see more of the countryside around Ventura.

Ventura Harbor. Gray skies did not prevent people from kayaking or cruising around in paddle boats.

Rick found a friend to remind him of Jema. It turns out that the dogs owner is originally from Brooklyn... isn't everybody?
