We left Valdez under cloudy skies. As we started into Keystone Canyon the rain began and continued intermittently all the way to Tok. At the top of Thompson Pass, we had some fog but fortunately that cleared fairly quickly. I don't think I would have wanted to travel too far in these mountains with limited visibility. Once we got to Glennallen the clouds lifted a bit and as we got on the Glenn Highway/Tok Cutoff at Gakona, the halfway mark, it actually brightened a bit. The Tok Cutoff follows the Copper River valley for about half its length. This is a pretty scenic way with the Wrangell-St Elias Mountains on one side and the the Alaska Range visible on the other. Unfortunately, the weather limited the view and opportunities for photography.

We got to Tok, fairly early and spent the afternoon working on yesterday's Web page. When we got back to the campground from our nine hour cruise yesterday, neither of us had the inclination to do much of anything. Between us we took over 400 pictures during our cruise and we had to get them down to a manageable number and edit them for the Web. That little task took several hours to complete... something we could not have accomplished yesterday.

This is our last evening in Alaska, tomorrow morning we cross the Canadian border into the Yukon and begin our journey home.
